Lisa Young

My love for photography started at age 7 when I received my first 110 film camera. By high school my interest grew so much that I became the photographer on the yearbook staff. My decision to pursue professional photography was confirmed while having my senior portraits taken. I loved how fun it seemed with all the creative possibilities. In college, I began focusing not only on photography, but art technology as well. The two majors allowed me not only to take great photographs, but to experiment with software to enhance my photos further. I acquired hands-on knowledge with an internship that developed into a position at a professional portrait studio. I received my Bachelors Degree from Youngstown State University in 2000.

Since then, I placed myself alongside the best in my field, having mentors and taking roles as studio assistant, second photographer and candid wedding photojournalist. Weddings have become my favorite, since I have the privilege of capturing your romantic story in timeless photographs. I have won numerous awards for my children's portraiture, have been published in C magazine, and won the cover contest for Ohio Stylist magazine. I am a member of the Triangle Photographers Association and I attend various seminars to further my education in photography and computer technology.

My business started as L.A. (Lisa Acierno-my maiden name) Photography in college when I started photographing my friends' weddings. When I needed a studio, I was fortunate enough to use my colleagues'. Now, I am in process of building my own studio and pursuing my business full-time. I feel blessed to be able to do what I love.
